LE Designs Scottish Wedding Card

Good Morning everyone and a very warm welcome to the re-launch of the LE Designs blog.

Today, I am going to be showing you a bespoke Wedding Card that can be personalised for your chosen Bride and Groom. Watch below as this card is created using the 'MacLeod' tartan, with examples also of the same card using 'Royal Stewart' and 'Anderson' tartans.

The Story behind the creation of the card
At the beginning of the year, I was approached by a relative and asked if I would be able to create a Wedding card for him to give to his friends from Chile. The specification he gave was that he wanted a 'Scottish' themed wedding card with a bride and groom on, and the groom was to be wearing a kilt. As always, I agreed that this wouldn't be a problem  - then panicked over the fact I had no 'kilted' groom stamps to use. I began looking at the various companies I use for buying stamps, but nothing seemed to be quite what I was looking for.

I had a look at previous cards I had made in the hope of some inspiration. I came across this card…..

This card features a Tattered Lace die bride and groom. I knew this would be perfect on the card along with some tartan paper I already had by Dovecraft. This only issue, was that this groom was wearing tails, and I needed a kilt. Thankfully, with a bit of carefully cutting and layering of black, white and tartan sections of the die, I was able to create the below card, which matched the specification.

I love that this card can now been transformed into a bespoke card, tailored for any couple with the simple swap of tartans. Both the above cards are available to purchase from my Etsy shop located at www.ledesignsboutique.etsy.com.

Many thanks for joining me this week. Next week, I will be looking at taking an inspiration and turning it into wedding invitations. Why not follow this blog by email so you don't miss a post!!
